Here we inform you about some activities you can do to enjoy your stay at the Costa del Sol:

GOLF

Enjoying the sun and golfing in Andalusia twelve months a year is a reality. Mild winters and beautiful spring and autumn weather makes the Costa del Sol perfect for golf.

Andalusia has more than 80 golf courses ranging from modest 9-hole ones to splendid top ones, as well as those adapted for amateurs and tourist golf. All of them are in perfect condition and prepared for welcoming visiting golfers. The great number and variety of facilities, the privileged climate that allows you to play all year round, and the prestige of its golf courses have definitively made Andalusia a first-call golf destination.

SHOPPING

Spain’s leading department store, El Corte Ingles, has a huge store at Puerto Banus.

La Cañada, the main out-of-town shopping centre, has everything you’d expect, from clothes, sports and accessories shops to cinemas and restaurants. Most of the top-end brands can be found in Puerto Banus and in the centre of Marbella on Avenida Ricardo Soriano.

Another interesting option in Andalusia is its markets. Street markets of all kinds that make their weekly stop in all the towns of Andalusia. You will find everything from fruit and vegetables in season to antiques, craft and costume jewellery. For all tastes!

ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Water parks are great when you’re looking for some fun in the hot sun with the whole family. Before heading to the venue, we recommend confirming the opening hours on their official website. For most of the activities, for better rates, we recommend buying your tickets online. For the outdoor activities, do not forget to bring some sunscreen, a hat and  a bottle of water.

AQUALAND TORREMOLINOS

Aqualand Torremolinos is the largest and most popular water park on the Costa del Sol. It’s home to a universe of water slides of different heights and shapes that make it a perfect place to have an unforgettable time with family and friends. The park has a total area of 70,000 square meters, with 40,000 of them dedicated to attractions and amenities, with the rest for lawns and gardens. There are 14 attractions for the most daring, 19 slides for adults, 15 for children and an 18-hole mini-golf course. The Kamikaze attraction is Europe’s highest water slide with a descent of 22 metres. It also boasts a wave pool of over 1,400 m² and the Boomerang, a one-of-its-kind attraction on the Costa del Sol. Other areas make it an excellent location for a beautiful day that includes a variety of dining options, gift shop and garden area.

AGUAMIJAS WATERPARK

Aguamijas was designed with children and families in mind. It’s smaller than Aqualand, therefore in our opinion, might be more convenient for families with smaller children. There are plenty of interactive recreational activities as well as special areas just for kids, like the children’s pool. Most rides have a minimum height requirement of just 1.15 meters, making it accessible for older children who want to ride with their parents.

FLYBOARD AND BOAT RENTAL

The Funniest aquatic activity From the first minute, you fly several meters above the water like a Superhero and you can dive like a dolphin with the Flyboard. The company is held by a professional team who pays a lot of attention to your security and at the same time making sure you are having great time. Bonus, they speak great English!

SEA LIFE BENALMADENA

Sea Life Benalmadena is an aquarium, inaugurated in 1995 as a conservationist and protectionist centre for sharks and more than 5,000 creatures from the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the tropical areas of the Indian, Pacific and Red Sea, and the most representative species of the Amazon.

BIOPARK FUENGIROLA

Bioparc Fuengirola takes pride in its new zoo model based on the regard for nature and the protection of its species, a model that has become a point of reference in Europe.

They distinguish themselves, among other things, for its architectural design, called zoo-immersion that immerses visitors in the animal’s environment. The entire park has been designed to make visitors feel surrounded by the recreation of the habitat where the animals come from. There is continuity between the physical space occupied by the public and the one occupied by the animals to convey part of the magic involved in walking through the forest and discovering its inhabitants.

SELWO AVENTURA

Selwo Aventura in Estepona offers an entertaining day out where you can enjoy a combination of wildlife, nature and adventure.

You will find a wide variety of flora and fauna in conditions that are similar to their natural habitat. It opened in 1999 and has more than 2,000 animals from all over the world, including the only Asian elephant born in Spain. This is a great place to see plenty of animals roaming free in their natural habitat. You can easily spend 3 hours, half walking and half riding in open-air jeeps.

BENALMADENA BUTTERFLY PARK

Opened in 2011, this is the largest Butterfly Park in Europe with over 900 square meters, located in a beautiful Thai-style building, with many of the decorative elements brought directly from Thailand.

More than 1,500 butterflies from tropical areas all over the world fly free inside the Park. Many of the butterfly species reproduce in the park itself, so besides butterflies you can observe all the stages of their fascinating biological cycle as eggs and caterpillars, and other behaviour such as their courtship flights and mating. Every day new butterflies are born in the nursery, so do not miss the unique opportunity to see how they hatch from the chrysalis and spread their wings.

The environmental conditions in the garden are the same as in their original habitats with 80% humidity and a temperature of between 24-29ºC. Which can make it a quite “hot experience” if you visit the park in July-August.

A few meters from Butterfly is located the Enlightenment Stupa, the largest Buddhist temple in the West. From the terrace you can enjoy the magnificent view of the coast.
