Here is a small list of our favourite restaurants in Estepona, famous for their high quality products, outstanding customer service and popularity among the locals.

1. La Marina y Alma de Miguel (Old Taberna de Miguel)

Located in the centre of Estepona on Calle Caridad, next to Plaza Ortiz.

After the recent renovation, La Marina is great for tapas and smaller portions sitting on high chairs sipping some champagne and wine, meanwhile Alma de Miguel is a more classical restaurant, ideal for lunch and dinner.

You will find a great variety of fresh fish and seafood but as well meat dishes and paella! Do not forget to have a look on their wine menu where you will find quality wines from full-bodied red wines to crisp dry white wines. 

2. Las Brasas de Alberto

Our favorite meat restaurant en Estepona, located by the Plaza Ortiz. A restaurant that prides itself on bringing in the very best meat from the North of Spain.

Do not forget to ask Angel to guide you through the best meat for you, he is willing to bring out a huge tray of different cuts to choose from. Our favourite dishes are their Gambas al Pil Pil to start with and as a main course beef steak “chuletón”. Plates are large and perfect for sharing. If you are a meat lover, then in Las Brasas de Alberto you will be in heaven.

Another thing you will get surprised is their extensive wine selection. 

3. La Bulla Gastrobar

Situated next to the Estepona beach line promenade, this gastrobar is a must-visit. 

Equally, great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just for a drink overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The menu is imaginative and the food perfectly prepared. Our favourites are tuna tartar from the tapas menu, deconstructed tortilla and Pulpo a la Gallega. Do not hesitate to ask for menu suggestions, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Do not forget to try their delicious Gin and Tonic combinations.

4. La Casa Del Rey.

A tapas bar, located right on Calle Rafael next to Plaza de las Flores, has probably the widest selection of wines in Estepona. Great place for wine lovers, they have over 75 different wines that you can try by glass without having to buy a bottle.

As well, they organize wine tasting evenings, booking is essential! We definitely visit La Casa Del Rey for its selection of wines. Do not hesitate to ask Jesús, their sommelier, for his recommendations. He’s a real jewel!

The restaurant itself is romantic with very lovely decor and the cuisine is Mediterranean, slightly modern but not very sophisticated. Nevertheless, the atmosphere ir fantastic, the staff is great and wine selection is wide.

5. La Tarantella.

Located on Calle Santa Ana, 30 m from Plaza de las Flores, in the heart of Estepona.

A beautifully designed Italian restaurant in Estepona. The best in our opinion if you are looking for a high class of service, delicious food and drinks.

Pizzas are not always available but the pasta never disappoints! Excellent venue for a romantic soirée.

6. Bar El Típico Andaluz.

Lovely family run rustic restaurant, located on Calle Caridad, in the centre of Estepona.

This is a meat and cheese lovers paradise with jamón, morcilla, chorizo and queso viejo beautifully carved and presented. The owner, Javier is always available to offer advice and to explain the provenance of each dish.

We often visit the bar for a portion of the world-famous Spanish Iberian ham before going on close by for a main course. During the winter months there is a roaring wood fire.

7. El Pescador.

A seafood restaurant located just in front of the sea.

The restaurant itself is very nice, clean and modern. Especially we like to visit the restaurant during summer evenings to watch the sunset while having dinner.

In their menu you will find both, meat and fish, nevertheless they are specialized in fish and seafood prepared in various ways to taste.
